Photographed in Tulum, Mexico, inside a blooming cenote where water lilies drift beneath the surface. The model, Claire, improvised by simply lying down - as if surrendering to the water. It is not an easy pose to hold: to remain still beneath the surface, she had to exhale all air from her lungs, otherwise the body naturally floats back up.

Yet in that fragile balance, between breath and silence, she appeared like a sleeping siren - weightless, serene, and part of the hidden garden below.

This is my close friend Katia.

Due to some difficult life circumstances, she spent almost two years bedridden. Many things have been hard for her since then.

When we arrived at this cenote, Katia felt a deep connection to the space. While I was photographing professional dancers, she stayed alone - in silence- experiencing her own journey.

She doesn’t know how to dive and had to gently push herself under the water. At first, it just didn’t work.

And then - this frame happened.

A frame of rebirth.

In that moment, it felt like the whole universe came togethe

Captured in the mystical cenotes of Tulum, Mexico, where water lilies bloom beneath the surface. The water was cold, and it took many attempts to bring four women together in harmony underwater. Yet in the midst of struggle, something otherworldly emerged.

They appear as if they belong there - mythical sirens resting in a hidden garden, suspended between silence and breath, light and depth. A fleeting moment where myth became real, and the water itself seemed to hold its breath.

This is my friend Anthea. While on her first solo trip in 2017, she accepted a ride from a stranger and was kidnapped and raped. The aftermath was overwhelming: PTSD, flashbacks, and the unbearable weight of simply existing in her body.

We met in 2020 on my group naked photoshoot, where I took on of my famous works « Rebirth of women » , it was a real “rebirth” later in 2021 she discovered freeediving as we went together to Raja Ampat and everything began to shift. In the water, she learned to meet discomfort with presence. It became a portal for healing, where she could feel free, safe, and whole again.

Since then, every time we’re together, something sacred and creative happens. She says she feels proud to be a woman, safe in her body, and seen. I learn a lot from her, I admire her absolute confidence and the kindest heart .

One of my favorite moments is the photo we took in June 2025 in a cenote - place the Mayans call a portal. In it, Anthea saw not just herself, but her reflection - the part of her that carried the pain, the hidden grief, the healing. She said that photo made her emotional, because it showed all of her - the broken and the whole - as beautiful.

The golden light in that image feels like hope: two versions of her meeting, becoming one.

Marinet herself went through trauma and had a deep fear and mistrust of animals. For her, this shoot was about overcoming fears, gaining new experiences, and learning to see elephants differently. When five elephants approached us at sunrise, she was overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears. At first, she was afraid to even get close. We shot in several stages, and with each one, the trust grew.

It was her first time interacting with the largest land mammals on Earth - and mine, too. Neither of us will ever forget it.

This kind of experience doesn’t come from pixels or code.

It comes from the soul. From courage. From connection.

After moments like these, all you want is to protect this planet and every creature on it.

What truly matters is what lives inside.

The Hair Connection

This was one of the most challenging shoots of my life. We gathered sixteen long-haired women from across the island of Bali, bringing them together on the southern coast at 4 a.m. Four hairstylists worked tirelessly to weave their hair into a single living connection - some with their natural locks, others with extensions seamlessly blended in.

The women came from many places: mostly Indonesians, but also from Russia, Germany, Switzerland, and Africa. Together, lying on the dry reef, they formed a tapestry of sisterhood - bound not only by their hair, but by the shared energy of the moment.

Captured near Cancún, Mexico, on our very first day of shooting. In a deep cenote hidden in the forest, eight women dove together - for most, it was the very first time. The water was cold yet unbelievably clear, carrying both fear and wonder.

What began as hesitation turned into a moment of connection. Strangers became close, boundaries dissolved, and the cenote embraced us in its luminous depths.

«The ocean, with its infinite depths and undulating movements, holds

A special place in the hearts of women everywhere. It mirrors the vastness

Of our emotions, the richness of

Our intuition, and the depth of our connection to the natural world.

As we look upon its rolling waves,

We are reminded of the endless possibilities that exist within us, just as water represents life, purification, and transformation.

Long hair, too,

Is a symbol of unity among women, binding us together through its representation of our shared lineage. Like our hair woven together, so are our lives and experiences intertwined.

Rivers — like the veins in our bodies — carry the life force of the earth, sustaining and nourishing the ocean.

We are intertwined with this life source, much like an umbilical cord connecting us to the placenta. It is our duty to protect and preserve this sacred connection to the ocean,

To honor and respect its vital role in our lives.»

This April, my friend Chantal and I traveled to South Africa to volunteer for 10 days with wildlife. We fed and cared for about 100 animals every day, with a particular focus on cheetahs. These incredible cats are both sensitive and intelligent. After spending 10 days with them, they rewarded us with the opportunity to take some unforgettable photos as souvenirs.

We had a particularly close connection with Velvet, an older female cheetah who was rescued from a bad breeding facility. She arrived in poor condition, suffering from ringworm and a broken tail. Velvet was initially placed into a rewilding program but showed no desire to be released. During the soft release process, she was determined to stay close to humans and chose to return to us. Her gentle personality and love for people made her unsuitable for release.

This photograph was taken on the very last day of our trip, during sunrise, when everything fell into place, allowing us to capture a truly magical moment.

10% of the proceeds from this series go toward supporting a cheetah rehabilitation center in Africa.
